The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) Health IT Certification Program is a voluntary certification program established by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT to provide for the certification of health IT standards, implementation specifications and certification criteria. In order to capture and share patient data efficiently, providers need an EHR that stores data in a structured format. Structured data allows patient information to be easily retrieved and transferred, and it allows the provider to use the EHR in ways that can aid patient care. Certified EHR technology gives assurance to purchasers and other users that an EHR system or module offers the necessary technological capability, functionality, and security to help them meet the meaningful use criteria.

The FlagShipMD EHR is a Complete EHR for Ambulatory care certified as 2014 Edition compliant by ICSA Labs in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payment.

Limitations: There are no contractual limitations related to the certified product that would limit the user’s ability to use any of the capabilities that the technology is certified.
The FlagShipMD is certified according to the criteria in 170.314(e)(1). In order for a provider to qualify for this measure they must be able to submit summaries of care to a third party via a direct message as a referral. Due to limited adoption of Direct, providers may be limited in their ability to achieve this measure.
The FlagShipMD is certified according to the criteria in 170.314(f)(2) and 170.314(f)(3). With the changes to the 2014 Release 2 in October of 2015, providers are required to submit clinical summaries to 2 of 4 available options. Given that FlagShipMD is only certified in 170.314(f)(2), and 170.314(f)(3), attesting providers are limited to using those features, or the features related to 170.314(b)(7) or 170.314(e)(1) to satisfy this measure.
